Gianyar Market

Today we went to Gianyar market.  It is essentially a huge open air market, about 30 minutes from Ubud.  We wanted to go to this market to see a less touristy more traditional market, and we were not disappointed.  We were the only westerners there, and most people did not speak english.  In Ubud most people speak english, and almost all the signs are in english.  In Gianyar, there was only Indonesian.  This made ordering lunch very interesting.  There were lots of little food carts which appeared to only serve one item each, but we did not know what those items were.  Fearing that we would be served dog, we found a small restaurant which turned out to be a food court in a mall (sort of).

The market was super crowded.  It was maze like, in that you couldn't walk straight for more then about 50 feet, and there were shops everywhere!

This was a booth that was selling flowers, that the Balinese often use in their daily offerings (which is a whole post on to itself)
