This ridge is absolutely beautiful, and our cameras could not capture it very well.
The walk we were taking was an 8 km walk. 3 kms in we found this amazing restaurant on top of the ridge, which overlooked terraced rice paddies. It was amazing! Here is a view we had for all of lunch!
The food wasn't amazing, but the view was totally worth it!
We stayed there for about 2 hours, and then continued the walk. The rest was kind of disappointing. Most of it was on a road, and then the part where it was supposed to break away from the road and walk along the rice patties, had been closed off. So we walked further down the road, and went back to a restaurant on Penestanan, and relaxed for a while before heading home. On the way home we ran in to a group of kids. Two of them had a dragon costume (one was the head, the other the tail) and they run around the town, with other kids behind them playing instruments (all percussion type) and it's very amusing.
After a shower and some nice relaxation we joined the Volunteer Coordinator, and another coordinator, and some of his friends for a drink, before ending up back home.

We found out a little more about the "dragon" costume. It is really not a dragon at all, but a pig. And the boys who march around are called "Barong dancers". The kids are off from school all week because of the holiday and the boys walk around playing music and jumping around in the pig costume. They are always asking for tips, and if you give them one, you get a little private dance. I think the whole point of the pig is to chase away the bad spirits?
